Andrew Bainbridge – Co-opted Governor

After more than 30 years leading on transport strategy, policy and planning for North Yorkshire County Council I took early retirement in 2020. I have lived in Northallerton most of my life including a number of years in the Broomfield catchment and want to give something back to my home town and keep my grey matter busy in retirement.

I agreed in March 2023 to become a co-opted Governor at Broomfield School. I hope to use my understanding of the public sector and my strategic planning skills and experience to help make the school the ‘Good’ school the children deserve.

My mother was a teacher, my sister was a teacher and I even ended up marrying a teacher so although having no professional education experience I have been around teaching most of my life.
